Soprano Clarisse Planchais, originally from Brittany in France, pursued her early studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris before graduating from the Prins Claus Conservatoire in Groningen, where she studied with Hanneke de Wit. She is currently continuing her training at the Dutch National Opera Academy. During her studies, she received the Miluska Duffková Scholarship and the Excellence Scholarship from the Fonds Koninklijk Conservatorium. She was also awarded the Young Hope Prize and the Prize of the French Centre for Lyrical Promotion at the 4th International Opera Competition Raymond Duffaut in France.
Her repertoire spans from Baroque to contemporary music, with roles including Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Musetta (La Bohème), Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), and Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress). She has appeared in productions such as Raskatov’s Animal Farm at Dutch National Opera and the Wiener Staatsoper, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with the Luthers Bach Ensemble, and Puccini’s Suor Angelica with the Nootstroom Orchestra.
Concert engagements include a French Baroque recital with the Noordelijk Barokensemble and Duparc songs with orchestra at De Oosterpoort in Groningen and De Harmonie in Leeuwarden.
